Construction work at Dr Williams’s Library during 2020 and 2021

Although the reading rooms are currently closed to readers and visitors, Friends events and Library seminars are still taking place in the Library building.   The Trustees agreed at a Special Meeting held in early March to a major scheme to reinforce the structure of the building and to improve the services (heating, lighting, and other mechanical and electrical facilities), subject to listed building planning consent. This will be first comprehensive repair and refurbishment of the Library building since it was built in 1848. read more …
